Emma likes Vintage Finds

Helloooooooo Sailor!

The Grace Darling is hosting Hello Sailor, Melbourne's favourite vintage fair, tomorrow. Channel 31 will be there along with plenty of stallholders, barbeque-ers and shoppers! Be there or be of equal proportions!

Saturday and Sunday with different stallholders each day at The Grace Darling, 114 Smith Street, Collingwood, 1-6pm.

If you buy a Polaroid SX-70 out from under me I will have to hunt you down and skin you alive! Just warning you!

Emma Likes Terrifying Dresses

How can a few scraps of material be terrifying you ask? Well, I recently stumbled upon the most blood curdling, spine tingling, toe curling dress known to man... Without further ado, shield your eyes kiddies... ITS ALIIIIVE!!!!

This unholy holey bit of clingy side-gut exposing terror is the handiwork of Shakuhachi. I'm sorry to sound like a chubby prude (I'm hardly either to be honest) but I can't think of an occasion I'd like the EXACT point in my side which creases (let's be honest - 'rolls') in on itself the moment I move off of vertical... Ugh... I shudder...

On the other hand, if I were a mannequin with a rock hard moulded plastic stomach it would be none to shabby at all. Ah well, in another incarnation :)

Emma doesn't like today

I am not having a good day today. Do you ever get that feeling like nothing is moving forward? I'm having a minor crisis over what I want to do with my life, and I've realised choice isn't all its cracked up to be. At the moment, my life could go in so many different directions it's terrifying!

I'm also feeling very guilty because I want to get fitter, more creative, more organised etc, and I still spend every day watching TV, and trawling the net and not doing much else! I know I should go to the gym tonight, but it's not going to happen...

Ah well. Only got myself to blame I guess!

Emma Likes Her New iPhone

I always thought phone cameras were inherently crappy but the iPhone and I have actually taken some pretty snaps! I got the free Mill Colour App and have been loving the nice, simple filters - I think this one was the 'Cross-Processed' look.

Can't wait to play some more!

Emma likes clothes

Being clothed tends to be better than being naked, particularly in public or cold circumstances.

So, without further ado - my favourite items of the now:

A cute outfit from jackson, johnston & roe

The Africa Swimsuit by We Are Handsome (AU$120)

None the Richer - Skull White Dress AU$235

None the Richer - Flamingo Sands Jacket AU$235

Oh why oh why am I so broke? And why do I know that my life would just be that much better if I were coddled in a plush pink flamingo emblazoned coatlet? Ah the pain of infinite wisdom.

Emma likes Roid Week

I have severe Polaroid envy. It's crippling really. And I just found out its Roid Week on Flickr which may just push me over the edge and reduce me to a quivering pile of jealousy. Ah well, at least the pool has enough beautiful shots to keep me going in my quest to one day own my very own instant camera.

Ironically, I am at the moment sorting through all my own photos and trying to compile an album of sorts. Maybe I should scan some and make my own Flickr thingie? We'll see how I go ;)

PS. The image is by 4ever16candles. So pretty don't you think?

Emma likes being narcissistic

Well hello there! Welcome to my humble blog. Here's hoping it stays humble and this is only one of very few posts which will centre on me. I figure its justified since this is the first post and all and it would be terribly rude for me not to introduce myself - you should probably know who's writing all this claptrap and nonsense.

I study media + communications and law. I live in Melbourne in the comforts of the parental nest. I could subsist wholly on good ol' Melbourne tap water and Indo Mie Mi Goreng instant noodles. I recently quit smoking (go me!). I'm thinking about a career in advertising.

I just bought a gorgeous pink bicycle after being inspired by the Europeans and their velophilic ways. That's her up top - say hello! On that note, I also returned from an overseas jaunt last month and am now itching to go away again. I'm thinking Russia. Or maybe Japan.

I'm also slightly obsessed with old vintage cameras. I do buy into all that lomography crap if you must know. I name them too. Maybe I'll introduce you someday if you're lucky... maybe. (PS. Check out Poladroid to turn your boring old digi pics into pretty Polaroids!)

Anyway, the point of this blog, I hope, will be to share all the things I covet, have recently acquired, find interesting etcetera. I hope someone, somewhere finds it interesting! Anyway, look forward to getting to know you!
